Four hearts in a spin... Heart Spin is a charm square friendly PDF quilt pattern inspired by the Card Trick quilt block. It neatly uses a pack of 42 pre-cut 5" charms or you can cut your own 5" squares. Finishing at around 35.5" square, your quilt would make a lovely wall hanging or a sweet little play mat for children. It could also be used as a table topper.

I have written the pattern with the beginner in mind, including lots of illustrations and tips. You'll need to know how to use your sewing machine, be able to sew a consistent quarter inch seam, sew along a drawn line and measure and cut fabric pieces with accuracy. The construction method is designed to be a bit forgiving, so I hope you'll feel confident to give it a shot. If you need any advice, I'm happy to help - just email me at the address included in the pattern.

You'll need half a metre (20") of background fabric and one 42 piece, 5" x 5" charm pack for the hearts and border. The charm pack fabric I've used for this quilt is called Daysail by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics. Background is Hello Tokyo by The Red Thread for Robert Kaufman.

If making for children, please consider the flammability of materials when selecting fabric and batting for your quilt.

Note that this is a digital pattern in PDF format, so you will need a PDF reader to be able to view it. I like to use Foxit Reader or Adobe Reader. If viewing on a device such as a tablet, check your app store for PDF reader options.
